I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to the 2008 baseball season with a special hello to those of you joining CMMBA for the first time. A new season always brings enthusiasm as it usually means the end of a long winter; “if winter comes can baseball be far behind” should be our rallying cry. For me there is nothing better than enjoying a game on a bright sunny day! 2008 will be another great season for CMMBA as we continue to be one of the largest and most respected groups in BC Minor Baseball. This year Coquitlam will host the Pee Wee provincials which will be a very special event for the Association.
For 2008 we are able to announce no registration fee increases for the coming season. As well we will enter our second season with the Rally Cap program aimed at those children born in 2003 and too young for formal T-Ball. In our inaugural year we claimed a great success and for us was one of the big surprises of 2007. The only problem we had was trying to figure out who had more fun, the children or the parents!
I would like to thank the many volunteers in our Association who work so hard to ensure the success of this Association. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. We are constantly on the look out for anyone who is interested in joining our executive and if you can think of someone who might want to get involved please contact us. I would like to thank all the retiring volunteers for their hard work and rest assured you will be missed.
So away we go and make 2008 another memorable season. Let’s keep the spirit within our youth and remember the ideals of this great sport that have brought so much satisfaction to so many people. Have a great season everyone!!
